You may encounter these errors when you try to use the network privileges.
The first can happen when you try to change a user’s password with a program such as C #.The second may appear when accessing a network share drive.
The above error appears with the following message.
System error 86 – The specified network password is not correct.
The specified network password is incorrect. HRESULT: 0x800700
Resolution 1 – Check NTLM
This is because the Lan Manager authentication level may not be correct.
If you have actually entered the correct password and are still experiencing the error, check your network security policy.
1. go to start > run 2. typing secpol.msc and enter 3. Local Policies > Security Options 4. Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level to 'Send LM & LTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated
Resolution 2 – WMI limit
This can happen because the account you are using does not have sufficient permissions.Please check WMI remote access permission.
